National Portrait Gallery: Princess Diana
National Portrait Gallery Diana, Princess of Wales. Acrylic on Canvas by Bryan Organ 1981. This wonderful portrait was painted at the time of Diana’s engagement to the Prince of Wales and shows her in the Yellow Drawing Room of Buckingham Palace.
The artist – Bryan Organ was born in Leicester in 1935 and studied at Loughborough College of Art and the Royal Academy Schools (1952-9). His first solo exhibition was at Leicester City Art Gallery in 1958. Since 1967 he has been represented by the Redfern Gallery, London.
